To effectively serve citizens in the digital age, governments need technical expertise and a deep understanding of digital systems. Over the past two decades, eGov Foundation has worked with governments and markets to drive governance transformation and public service delivery through digital public infrastructure.
Catalysing the ecosystem
Recognizing the critical role government and ecosystem partners play in implementing digital solutions, eGov Foundation focuses on building the capacity of implementation partners through continuous training and workshops. Building the capacity of governments and their partners is core to our ethos of ensuring the sustainability of programs which leverage DIGIT.
eGov works with all ecosystem actors through open learning sessions, workshops, webinars and hands-on training to boost co-creation and co-ownership. Further, eGov also helps in bridging policy, digital blueprints and governance structures. Together, the efforts of eGov and the ecosystem enable impact at scale and with speed.
eGov’s Partnership with NUDM – NIUA
Launched in 2021, The National Urban Digital Mission (NUDM) aims to build a shared digital infrastructure that will strengthen the capacity of the urban ecosystem to solve complex problems at scale and speed. The implementation of NUDM is being anchored by the Centre for Digital Governance (CDG) under the National Institute of Urban Affairs (NIUA)
In October 2021, eGov Foundation’s DIGIT platform was chosen by the National Urban Digital Mission with the objective of supporting effective citizen-centric governance.
NUDM’s technical training program on UPYOG
NUDM organised a four-day technical training program on UPYOG (Urban Platform for deliverY of Online Governance) from June 6, 2023, to June 9, 2023. UPYOG, built using DIGIT, an open-source service delivery and governance platform by eGov Foundation, is designed to enhance the operational capacity of rural and urban local bodies.
This comprehensive training program, conducted in collaboration with eGov Foundation, aimed to equip implementation partners with the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively utilize UPYOG and leverage its capabilities for the seamless delivery of citizen services. More than 150 participants from the government and private sector joined this capacity-building workshop.
Building the capacity of governments and their partners is core to our ethos of ensuring the sustainability of programs which leverage DIGIT. In the last 12 months, we have delivered more than 20,000 hours of training. In addition, there are more than 1000 artefacts available on digit.org
